ECHO

Echo is a built-in lamp for interior spaces, composed of a hiding part which blends into the wall, where it’s installed on, and a flexible PVC sheet, on the back of which there is a LED source.

The built-in element made out of anodized aluminium and chalk hides all the other electronics: a power adapter and a switch. The interactive sheet flexes outwards using a sliding system that controls the light intensity, creating the image of a detached edge coming out of the wall.

The light changes from the highest intensity on the maximum opening of the sheet, to switching off when it’s completely flattened. Designed to be modular, Echo makes several shadow effects on the other modules, by flexing it in infinite positions.

A lamp that tries to screen the light, the paradox of hiding something which is necessary to see.

The interaction with the user is direct, physical, manual, close to the tactile human approach with objects.
