FOODNET

How does our alimentary system work today? How do we get the food that we eat on our plate?

The economic renewal that we are still living has certainly brought benefits, comfort and new possibilities, also making positive changes in the socio-cultural sphere. However, it has also caused a number of large-scale problems for both our health and the environment, more prominently for the less well off, both in developing and non-developing countries.

Alternatives to such agro-industrial systems already exist, but are still poorly usable by a large number of consumers. With the coming of the internet, the possibilities of these alternative methods have expanded, laying the foundations for various scenarios that represent a potential alternative to the world of supermarkets.

In this panorama the case of Cortilia is presented, a young start-up active in Milan and its hinterland, committed to promoting local producers of this area. Using a logistical system, among the most advanced in the short supply chain, they can make a direct sale to the final consumer and home delivery the purchase. The future goal of the company is to expand the system into other areas, both on a national and European territory.

My proposal, in order to increase the number of companies and users subscribed to the service, provides an expansion of the existing system and an ad hoc packaging solution for the distributed products.
